Genial

Plus d’excuses pour un levain raté. Plus de pertes de matières premières. Associé à la chambre de pousse c’est la perfection. Je conseille vraiment le combo.

Skeptical at first…

I never really thought I needed this device, but it makes daily sourdough starter maintenance so much easier. I never have to worry about the room or water temp, really.

Additionally, customer service is 11/10.

Hi Sarah, we're thrilled to hear how much you enjoy the Sourdough Home and that it's making your baking easier! Thank you for your kind words about our customer service—it's truly appreciated. Happy baking!

Tentatively ok

This product is just ok. I'll be honest, I think I definitely set my hopes too high, believing that suddenly my starter would turn into the best starter the world had ever seen. It didn't. The problem is that the Sourdough House could really be at any temperature and we'd never really know because it could say anything and really be operating at something different. That's why we have over thermometers and thermostats. Accounting for accuracy is one big issue, but the he other is that, even if it is accurate, you have to open it to see what your starter is doing, defeating the point of a glass jar. It's silly. Even if it helps, for those of us who want to watch the process and monitor the rise, we have to constantly open the door.

Additionally, a couple of times our unit has randomly changed temperatures, even though we have not pushed any of the buttons and only once our unit just completely shut off randomly. We do not suspect that we lost power any of these times.

All in all, we are not yet convinced that this product does anything at all. It does, however, provide a nice safe, stable environment for our starter. Our starter used to live in the bread box. Was this upgrade worth $150? I think not. I could be convinced. We are going to start one more starter and try to be extra perfect in our consistency. The future of the sourdough House rest on this one creation.

Erin, thank you for sharing your honest and detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the Sourdough Home hasn’t fully met your expectations yet. Please check your email as a team member from Customer Support has reached out to you to help troubleshoot your issues. We are committed to helping your next starter succeed in order to prove that our SDH is worth it for your kitchen!
